PROTOCOL SuBMISSION TO APPROVAL

All research, teaching, and testing using vertebrate and cephalopod animals requires the review and approval of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).  The IACUC reviews protocols and amendments via eProtocol, a web-based product to manage IACUC, IBC and IRB protocols.

Two types of eProtocol users:

1. Investigator users: Users with roles which include Principal Investigators (PIs), Co-Investigators and their lab members. Investigator users can access those protocols that belong to the group owner (PI). 
2. Administrative users: Users with administrative roles which include IACUC Administrators, IACUC Committee members, and designated animal technicians. 

Access to eProtocol is through your UTEP username and UTEP password.  You will need to allow pop-up windows for eProtocol to work properly.
